Tezzbuzz Desk – South superstar Yash's most awaited film 'Toxic' has finally been released in theatres. There was a huge buzz about the film for a long time and Yash's return to the big screen after almost four years increased the excitement among the fans. However, after its release, the film is getting mixed response on social media. While some viewers are liking it a lot, some people have even called the film disappointing.

Apart from Yash, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara and Rukmini Vasant also play important roles in the film. Many viewers on social media have also praised the acting of these artists. The film has been directed by Geetu Mohandas.

Talking about earnings, 'Toxic' has made a net collection of Rs 101.10 crore in India on the very first day. Considering the beginning of the film, it is expected to cross the Rs 200 crore mark soon. At the same time, the worldwide earning of the film is said to be more than Rs 140 crore.

The record of 'KGF 2' remains far away

It is natural to compare 'Toxic' with Yash's previous release 'KGF Chapter 2'. 'KGF Chapter 2' was released on 14 April 2022 and after this, no Yash film was released in theaters for almost four years. In such a situation, fans were hopeful that 'Toxic' could break the record of 'KGF 2' on the opening day.

However, this did not happen. 'KGF Chapter 2' had a net collection of around Rs 116 crore on the first day in India, while 'Toxic' earned Rs 101.10 crore. That means, despite a great start, Yash's new film lagged behind his previous film in the total opening day collection.

'Toxic' made a new record in Hindi

While 'Toxic' is behind 'KGF 2' in terms of total opening, the film has performed better in the Hindi market. According to the report, 'Toxic' did a business of around Rs 55 crore on the first day in Hindi. Whereas 'KGF Chapter 2' had earned Rs 53.95 crore on the first day in Hindi.

'Toxic' showed good hold in Kannada language also. The film collected around Rs 23.30 crore in Kannada, while the first day business of 'KGF Chapter 2' in Kannada was Rs 22.85 crore.

Worldwide earnings of 'KGF 2' were also excellent

'KGF Chapter 2' had a historic performance at the box office. The film did a worldwide business of around Rs 1,215 crore. At the same time, the overseas collection of the film was around Rs 214 crore.

Now there are even bigger expectations from 'Toxic'. After collecting more than Rs 100 crore on the first day, the film has indicated its strong start. Now the eye is on how fast Yash's film moves towards Rs 200 crore and then big box office records in the coming days.
