Yash’s ‘Toxic’ may be getting mixed reactions from the audience and critics after its release, but in terms of earnings, the film has made a strong start at the box office. Amidst the debate about the story and treatment of the film, the collection on the very first day made it clear that Yash’s stardom is still attracting the audience to the theatres.

‘Toxic’, released on August 26, has touched a big mark by earning more than Rs 100 crore in India on the opening day. At the same time, the world wide film has made a bumper earning of Rs 140 crore. In such a situation, this film has defeated Shahrukh’s Jawan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal in terms of first day’s earnings. That means, no matter what the reviews are, the film is making a huge splash at the box office in terms of money and now all eyes are on its weekend collection.

How many crores did Toxic earn on the first day?

According to preliminary data from industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Toxic’ earned around Rs 101 crore nett in India. At the same time, the worldwide gross collection of the first day of the film is said to be around Rs 140.75 crore. This includes earnings of about Rs 120.75 crore from India and about Rs 20 crore from abroad. That is, on the very first day of release the film touched the figure of more than Rs 140 crore. This brilliant start has once again shown Yash’s strong hold at the box office.

Tremendous response in Kannada, great earnings in Hindi too

The Kannada version of the film received excellent response in its home market. The occupancy of Kannada shows was around 89 percent. However, the earning from this language is said to be less than Rs 25 crore. The Hindi version gave great strength to the film. There is news of net earning of around Rs 55 crore on the first day in Hindi and the occupancy of the show was around 53 percent. The Telugu version also opened well at the box office.

Which films did it compete with?

The opening of Yash’s Toxic film has challenged the records of many big films. The film crossed the entire opening day collection of ‘Dhurandhar’ during the morning shows itself. After this, as the day progressed, it overtook the first day figures of films like ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Animal’. Now everyone’s eyes are on the earnings of the second day and first weekend of the film. If the audience’s trend continues like this, ‘Toxic’ can make a big record at the box office.
