London. Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Carabao Cup 2026-27. Whereas Manchester United will face Brighton & Hove Albion. Six teams of the Premier League can clash with each other in the third round.
The nine English teams competing in European competitions—Arsenal, defending champions Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace—will enter the competition from the third round.
Manchester City will face the challenge of Norwich City, while last year’s runners-up Arsenal will face Ipswich Town. Aston Villa has to play Coventry City and Sunderland has to play Hull City.
Chelsea can face Leeds United, but for this they will have to beat Luton Town on Thursday. Newcastle United will face Millwall and Everton will face Wolves.
The third round matches will be played in the week of 7 to 14 September to avoid clashing with fixtures in UEFA competitions.
