Xiaomi keeps polishing the HyperOS 4 software feel. This time the focus is on the Camera app, since most people use it a lot.

IT Home, XimiTime, and Nokia Power User report that Xiaomi has started pushing the redesigned Camera app in the HyperOS 4 beta. The goal is to align the app with the updated look seen in the rest of HyperOS 4.

Even if the update does not add a big bundle of new photo features, the interface tweaks are meant to make the Camera app match the system more closely.

A more even Camera look

The Camera app update is mostly about the screen layout. With HyperOS 4Xiaomi is changing the style across its apps, and the Camera app fits that trend. You can see new icons, and the text looks more uniform from screen to screen. Overall, the app feels cleaner and more tied together. Compared with the biggest HyperOS 4 updates, this feels simple. Still, it may help people who switch between system apps notice fewer style gaps. Some reports say Xiaomi is not aiming for big changes under the hood. So most camera modes and controls should stay familiar. If you already use Xiaomi’s Camera app, the update should not feel too different.

A Leica Edition that stays its own thing

There is one clear exception in the mix.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition Camera app is said to miss the same visual refresh.

That version uses a separate design made with input from Leica. The goal is to keep the Leica Edition’s feel and identity. So owners of that model should not expect the same Camera redesign that other supported devices get. In short, Xiaomi seems to handle the Leica-branded camera experience as its own setup, separate from the standard Camera app.

HyperOS 4 Beta Rollout Goes On

Xiaomi keeps expanding its phased HyperOS 4 beta plan. Along with that, the Camera app also gets a new look. The first rollout started on August 14. It covered models like the Xiaomi 17 line, the Redmi K90 series, and the Xiaomi Pad 8. Next, more phones and tablets join on August 27. This includes the Xiaomi 17 Max, the Xiaomi 17T series, and several Xiaomi 15 models. Xiaomi says there will be another later batch too. That includes more Redmi K-series devices, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, and some tablets. Because it is still a beta, the final layout and how certain functions work may shift before the full stable release.

What Is Coming With Android 17

HyperOS 4 runs on Android 17. It is not only a Camera update. It is a wider software change.

The update adds Super XiaoAI 2.0. It also brings new AI features, better links across devices, and more options to customize the system. Xiaomi also aims to speed up everyday performance. The company claims apps can open up to 18 percent faster after long use. It also says changes to how resources are handled should help the phone feel steadier overall.
