Ayyoub Bouaddi has made Premier League history before even kicking a ball for Manchester City. The 18-year-old Morocco international became the most expensive teenage signing in Premier League history after completing a transfer from French club Lille for £85.6 million ($117 million).
Bouaddi has signed a five-year contract with the English champions, and City is allegedly paying €95 million up front, with a further €5 million linked to possible bonuses. The previous record set by Leny Yoro, who transferred from Lille to Manchester United in 2024, is surpassed by the midfield player's historic move. Bouaddi joins the Etihad following a successful stint at Lille, where he established himself in Ligue 1 and became the club's youngest player before making his professional debut for Morocco.

speaking on his arrival, Bouaddi said he was thrilled to be a part of what he considered to be the greatest club in the world. He emphasised the Etihad Stadium's winning mentality and his desire to grow under manager Enzo Maresca's direction. "This is a very special day for me and my family. Manchester City are, for me, the best Club in the world. It's a dream to be here and be able to call myself a City player. I've watched City for many years, and I love their style of play. The squad is world-class and Enzo is a top manager," Bouaddi said.
