Naini, Prayagraj. On the information of informer, Naini police raided the illegal hookah bar running in the restaurant and detained 10 people from the spot. Police have recovered 14 hookahs, 17 chillums and a large quantity of flavored tobacco and other items from the spot. Action has been taken against everyone under Section 4/21 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act 2003.
According to the FIR, on 25th, Sub Inspector Vicky Kumar Gupta along with constables Vikas Upadhyay, Jakam Singh and Vishwaraj Singh, the wanted accused and checking in at Hotel-Dhaba, were present at Khan intersection. Second Mobile sub-inspectors Rishabh Patel and Ramkishun were also present at Khan intersection. Meanwhile, the informer came and informed that a hookah bar was running in Kajuja restaurant and some people were smoking hookah containing tobacco.
On receiving the information, the police team, after informing the officials, raided the Kajuja restaurant and found that 10 persons were smoking hookah in the hookah bar. Seeing the police, they got scared and tried to run away, but everyone was surrounded and caught on the spot. From the search of the restaurant, 14 nos. hookah, 03 nos hookah pipes, 17 nos pipe, 01 nos electric heater, 14 nos plastic pipes, 01 nos tongs, 29 nos of flavor tobacco closed packets, 05 nos of flavor tobacco open box, one electric scale, one hookah. A blower and an open box of charcoal were recovered. A total of 10 people were caught during the investigation.
