Singapore, ranked the world’s second richest country by GDP per capita in 2025, recorded 604,000 Indian tourist arrivals in the first half of this year, down 6.6% year on year amid global travel headwinds and intensifying regional competition.

Despite the small dip in visitor volume, Indian travelers remained top spenders, contributing S$374 million (US$294 million) in tourism receipts during the first quarter alone, rising 8% year-on-year, according to the Singapore Tourism Board.
“India’s consistent performance is particularly meaningful given the global headwinds the travel industry has had to navigate in recent times. It is a testament to the strong relationships we have built with Indian travellers, our airline partners and the travel trade over the years,” said Markus Tan, regional director (India, Middle East, South Asia & Africa) of Singapore Tourism Board as quoted by The Economic Times.
India recorded the highest growth in tourism receipts among all source markets during the quarter.
The performance, according to the board, points to growing Indian appetite for leisure, lifestyle and business experiences in Singapore.
In 2025, India ranked as the city-state’s fifth-largest source of international visitors, with 1.2 million arrivals, while Singapore welcomed a record 16.9 million international visitors overall.
The city-state recorded 8.19 million international arrivals for the first half this year, marking a 1.7% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year.
