Read, Digital Desk. There is big news for the passengers going from Gorakhpur to Mumbai. Railways has cleared the way for operation of Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Weekly Express. 05053/05054 Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus service, which is currently running as a special train, will now run regularly as 15085/15086 Amrit Bharat Weekly Express. Sumit Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, said that 15085 Gorakhpur-Bandra Terminus Amrit Bharat Weekly Express will depart from Gorakhpur every Friday from August 28, 2026. Whereas 15086 Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Weekly Express will run from Mumbai to Gorakhpur every Saturday from 29th August.
From Gorakhpur to Mumbai via Agra-Kota, many big cities of UP in between.
According to the new timetable, the train will leave from Gorakhpur at 7:50 am. After this the train will reach Badshah Nagar via Khalilabad, Basti and Gonda. The train will depart from Aishbagh at 2:05 pm and from Kanpur Central at 3:45 pm. After this, it will reach Gangapur City via Tundla, Agra Fort and Bayana. At night the train will pass through Kota, Bhawani Mandi, Shamgarh and Ratlam. Next day it will reach Bandra Terminus at 5:45 pm via Vadodara, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Palghar and Borivali. That means, running from Gorakhpur, the train will connect major cities of Uttar Pradesh with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Mumbai.
It will leave from Mumbai at night and reach Gorakhpur on the third day in the morning.
In return, train 15086 Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Weekly Express will depart from Bandra Terminus at 9:45 pm on Saturday. After Borivali, Palghar, Vapi and Valsad, the train will reach Surat and Vadodara. After this, it will reach Agra Fort via Ratlam, Shamgarh, Bhawani Mandi, Kota, Gangapur City and Bayana. The train will reach Kanpur Central at 10:45 pm. After this, it will reach Gorakhpur at 6:45 am on the third day via Aishbagh, Badshah Nagar, Gonda, Basti and Khalilabad.
Amrit Bharat Express will have 22 coaches
According to Railways, a total of 22 Amrit Bharat coaches will be installed in this train. These will include 11 general second class coaches, eight sleeper class coaches, one pantry car and two LSLRD coaches. This will provide another weekly train option to passengers traveling long distances. This announcement of Railways is expected to provide special benefits to the passengers traveling between Gorakhpur and Mumbai, especially those passengers who regularly travel towards Kanpur, Agra, Kota, Ratlam, Gujarat and Mumbai.
