Juventus have held talks with representatives of Franck Kessie as they continue reshaping their midfield, while also appearing set to lose out on Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee to Fiorentina. The Bianconeri are still very much a side under construction in the early part of the new season.

Sky Sport Italia today showed footage of discussions involving Kessie’s entourage and Juventus officials, including Frederic Massara and Giovanni Carnevali.

The former Atalanta and AC Milan midfielder is currently a free agent following three years with Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, and he is eager to return to Serie A. Roma have also been mentioned as a possible destination. However, Juventus are said to be in front, with a proposed two-year contract that includes an option for a third season, worth €4.5 million per year. The package would also include bonuses linked to performances.

Juventus are freeing up space in midfield through the sale of Fabio Miretti to Besiktas. He arrived in Istanbul this afternoon, where supporters welcomed him.

Zirkzee had been on Juventus’ radar for a long time, but Fiorentina are now in negotiations with the Manchester United striker over a loan move that would include an option to buy at the end of the season.
