The second match of the Test series between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo ended in a draw. On the last day of the match, Team India needed to bowl out Sri Lanka in the second innings to claim victory. Sri Lanka had only 4 wickets left, while the team was ahead by only 16 runs. But Sonal Dinusha once again became a hindrance in India’s path and scored her third century in the series. His century innings took away India’s chance of victory. Sonal Dinusha continued her excellent form and scored her third century in this series and helped Sri Lanka draw the second Test against India on the fifth and last day on Thursday. After winning the first Test with a landslide victory in Galle last week, India won the two-match series 1-0. India were hopeful of victory here too after taking a huge lead of 213 runs in the first innings, but Dinusha (133 not out) again came in their way and helped the home team draw the match by taking the total lead to 216 runs.
When both the teams agreed to end the match, Sri Lanka’s score was 429/9. Dinusha, who scored 103 runs in the first innings of this match and her first century in the series opener in Galle last week, shared a 112-run partnership with Keshara Nuvantha (46) for the seventh wicket. Despite the pressure of follow-on on the fourth day, he fought bravely for the home team in the second innings.
