Rakshabandhan, the festival of sacred love and relationship between brother and sister, is being celebrated on Friday (August 28, 2026). Every year the festival of Rakshabandhan is celebrated on Sawan Purnima and it is believed that on this day sisters tie Raksha Sutra on their brother’s wrist. According to the Panchang, Purnima Tithi has started on 27th at 9.09 am and it will end on 28th at 9.49 am. In such a situation, the most auspicious time to tie Rakhi on 28th will be 9.49 in the morning. However, you can tie Rakhi even after noon. If brothers want to gift gold items or invest in gold to their sisters after tying Rakhi, then know that the prices have come down on Friday.
Amid continuous fluctuations in gold prices (Gold Rate Today), prices started falling. According to GoodReturns, the price of 24 carat gold is at Rs 1,63,130 per 10 grams, while the futures price of 24 carat gold on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has fallen by 0.24 percent till night i.e. a fall of Rs 377 and has reached Rs 1,59,286 per 10 grams. It had closed at Rs 1,59,663 per 10 grams on the previous trading day. On the other hand, according to bullions, the price of 24 carat gold became Rs 1,59,760 per 10 grams, while in the international market gold is $ 4,657.40 per ounce.
