There is good news for the tourists visiting Darjeeling, the Queen of Hills during the Durga Puja festival. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is going to start special toy train excursion services from October 1 in view of the upcoming festive season. Among the special services, 'Muktdhara' being started in tribute to Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and 'Red Panda' toy train running on steam engine will be the main attractions.
DHR officer Pratiksha Chhetri said that the objective of these special tourist services starting from October 1 is to provide tourists a unique experience of the natural beauty of Darjeeling and the historical railway.
