Political turmoil has intensified after the big demonstration against caste reservation at Jantar Mantar in the country's capital New Delhi. Along with this, the protesters have raised a strong demand for strict implementation of the policy of 'One Family, One Reservation' and withdrawal of the recently discussed UGC directives to equity. Political equations and the meaning of the upcoming elections: Political analysts believe that this meeting is very important in view of the assembly elections to be held in many states including Uttar Pradesh early next year. Although the government has already clarified that the reservation system provided by the Constitution cannot be abolished, still the doors of dialogue have been kept open to address the concerns of the economically weaker and backward sections of the general category.
