Silver Price Today: Silver prices are witnessing a sluggish trend today. In Delhi, the price of one kilogram of silver has dropped by ₹100, bringing it to ₹2,59,900. In other major metropolitan cities, it is trading at the same price in Mumbai and Kolkata. However, the price in Chennai stands at ₹2,64,900, making it the most expensive among the four major metros.
Meanwhile, before the market opening today, silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) fell by 0.03%—a decline of ₹78—to ₹2,40,573 per kilogram. Silver futures price on Thursday
Silver prices in futures trading remained almost steady with a marginal decline, settling at ₹2,39,607 per kg on Thursday, as traders reduced their positions amidst weak spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of silver for September delivery fell by ₹31 (0.01 percent) to ₹2,39,607 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, in the global market, the price of silver in New York dropped by 0.35 percent to $68.35 per ounce. Market experts attributed the marginal decline in silver futures prices to selling by traders.
Market eyes Fed Chairman's speech
The bullion market is now focused on the speech by Kevin Warsh, a member of the US Federal Reserve Board (often referred to in the context of Fed leadership), scheduled for August 28 at Jackson Hole. This could provide some indications regarding the Fed's monetary policy. Analysts say that the Fed's policy concerning inflation and interest rates will first impact the dollar and bond yields, and subsequently affect the prices of gold and silver.
