Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has introduced a new special edition of the Jawa 42 FJ, called the Jawa 42 FJ All Stars. The new range is aimed at riders looking for a more distinctive version of the neo-classic motorcycle, with six new colour options and a few visual changes.

The Jawa 42 FJ All Stars is part of a new brand initiative called Jawa All Stars, which celebrates the character and individuality associated with Jawa riders. The motorcycle retains the basic design and mechanical package of the standard 42 FJ, but gets a more distinctive colour palette and detailing.

Prices for the new motorcycle start at Rs 2.01 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The range goes up to Rs 2.15 lakh for the Chrome version.

The biggest visual talking point is the choice of six colour schemes. The Jawa 42 FJ All Stars is available in Chrome, Nebula Blue, Matte Black with Red Clad, Matte Black with Black Clad, Aurora Green and Red. The Chrome version is the most expensive at Rs 2.15 lakh, while Aurora Green and Red are priced at Rs 2.01 lakh.

The motorcycle continues with the 42 FJ’s neo-classic styling. One of its signature features is the brushed aluminium tank panels, which give it a more premium appearance. Jawa is also retaining the sporty stance of the motorcycle rather than going for a traditional retro look.

Under the tank sits the same 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. It produces 29.17PS at 7,500rpm and 29.62Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and uses electronic fuel injection. Jawa claims that the motor delivers up to 42 per cent more power than most 350cc motorcycles in its segment.

The engine is housed in a double-cradle frame. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic front forks and gas-filled twin rear shock absorbers with five-step adjustable preload.

The Jawa 42 FJ All Stars gets dual-channel ABS as standard. It uses a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc. The motorcycle rides on a 100/90-18 front tyre and a wider 140/70 R17 rear tyre. Ground clearance stands at 178mm, while the seat height is 790mm.

At 184kg, it isn’t exactly a lightweight motorcycle. However, the relatively accessible seat height should make it manageable for a wide range of riders.

Despite its retro-inspired styling, the motorcycle gets modern equipment. There is a fully digital instrument cluster and all-LED lighting. The new Jawa also comes with the company’s Ownership Assurance Programme.

It includes a four-year/50,000km standard warranty, extended warranty options of up to six years and roadside assistance for up to eight years.
