The luxury hospitality sector across the country recorded RevPAR growth of 21.1% in the second quarter, outperforming the national hotel average by $73 per available room and reflecting strong demand for higher-end experiences among travelers, Vivek Bhalla, managing director for South East Asia & Korea at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said.

Vietnam welcomed 5.47 million foreign arrivals in the second quarter of this year, up 18% year-on-year.

For the first half of 2026, Vietnam received 12.3 million international visitors, up nearly 15% year on year, making it the third most visited country in Southeast Asia after Malaysia (21 million) and Thailand (15 million).

“Coastal destinations and beach resorts such as Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc continue to be the most popular choices among travelers,” Bhalla added.

The hotel operator plans to open more luxury hotels in Phu Tho, Can Gio, Sa Pa and Da Lat in the next three to five years.

The company also continues to explore future opportunities in key gateway and resort locations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang and Ho Tram.
