The death toll in Harpa Bane Nepal is increasing rapidly. According to the latest reports, the death toll has reached around five hundred. 469 people have died so far. It is known that at least 290 Indian citizens are missing. They are currently being searched for. But many roads and bridges in Nepal have been destroyed by Harpa Bane. Piles of clay have formed in various places, due to which the problem is increasing in the rescue work.
The origin of this disaster is in Tibet, China. From there the flood water enters Rasua district of Nepal. Bhotekoshi river flows through this district, which is about 125 km from Kathmandu. The water level of the river suddenly started increasing from Wednesday morning. After that, the district on the Chinese border was named Harpa Ban. Due to flash flood, there is destruction in Rasua district. One village after another was swept away by the torrent of water and mud. Almost all of central Nepal is now buried in clay.
Nepal Police said that the rescue work is going on. 796 people including 50 foreigners have been rescued. However, it is not known whether there are any Indians in the rescued list. At least 1500 people are missing in Nepal and Tibet together. Also, 44 members of the Nepal Army are missing. 28 policemen and 13 armed policemen are also missing. The administration said that 160 people working in various fields, including hydropower projects, are missing. Rescue operations are repeatedly hampered due to adverse conditions, resulting in increased risk of loss of life.
Along with local citizens, Indians are the worst affected by the Nepal disaster. According to the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday, 288 Indians are still missing in this disaster. People from different parts of the country went to Nepal mainly to visit Manas Sarovar through multiple travel agencies. It is reported that New Delhi is taking steps to rescue the stranded Indians. The Ministry of External Affairs has opened a 24-hour control room. Three helpline numbers are also provided.
