Lucknow, Read. A big event is going to be organized on National Sports Day in Lucknow, the capital of UP. To maintain the spirit of sports among children and youth and on the occasion of the birth anniversary of hockey magician Major Dhyan Chand, the Yogi government is going to organize sports festivals across the state.

Let us tell you that 3-day special sports programs will be organized by the Sports Department from 29th to 31st August in all 75 districts of the state. There will be a special presence of local public representatives in these events, who will participate in the opening and closing ceremonies.

Fit India and hockey tournament organized

On the first day of the three-day sports festival, the Fit India Pledge will be administered along with a special prayer meeting and tribute to Major Dhyanchand. With this, district level hockey competition and local sports competitions for under-14 boys will start. Digital presentations will also be given in memory of deceased players and coaches.

Focus will be on local sports

The second day of the festival will feature hockey matches as well as competitions in two popular local sports of the region. Under the campaign, warm-up, running, yoga and health awareness programs will be organized in Ek Ghanta Playground.

The last day will be Sunday on cycle.

On the last day, fitness rallies will be organized along with Sunday on Cycle campaign. Discussions on fitness, debate competitions, indigenous and indoor games will be organized in schools and colleges. The three-day sports extravaganza will conclude with felicitating the winners on the final day of the festival.
