New Delhi: Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday expressed his support for families affected by the devastating floods in Nepal and prayed for the safety of those awaiting news of their loved ones.
Taking to X, Tendulkar said the uncertainty of not knowing whether someone close is safe is one of the most difficult experiences, while extending his thoughts to affected families and rescue teams. He also acknowledged the efforts of rescue teams engaged in relief operations amid the flood situation.
"There is perhaps no greater uncertainty than not knowing whether someone you love is safe. My heart goes out to all the families affected by the devastating floods in Nepal, especially those still waiting for news. Praying for their loved ones and for the rescue teams working tirelessly to reach them," Tendulkar wrote.
The devastating flash floods wreaked havoc across Nepal, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday stating that 84 Indian nationals have been rescued while 290 remain uncontactable as the Himalayan nation stepped up search, rescue and relief operations following the disaster that has claimed at least 359 lives.
