Superstar Mahesh Babu is completely focused on Varanasi, a mega-budget attempt directed by SS Rajamouli. He will have no release for three years and Varanasi is slated for April 7th, 2027 release. The Tollywood Superstar is keen to sign two back-to-back projects and work on them at the earliest. He will be relieved from Varanasi before October this year. He will have ample time this year as the promotions of Varanasi will kickstart only in March 2027. Mahesh Babu has been discussing options with some of the top producers. Mythri Movie Makers, Asian Suniel, Dil Raju, KVN Productions, Hombale Films and others have met Mahesh Babu but nothing has been finalized. The biggest confusion is about working with a Telugu director or a pan-Indian director. Mahesh considered some of the top directors but all of them are busy with several projects. Rumors started that Mahesh will soon work with Anil Ravipudi and there was heavy trolling on social media after the speculation started. Mahesh Babu will decide whether to work with a pan-Indian director or a Telugu director. A better clarity is expected in the next couple of months by the time Mahesh Babu completes the shoot of Varanasi.
