Ola S1Z Electric Scooter Launched: Ola Electric has announced the launch of its brand new scooter range Ola S1Z. This is the first scooter range in the Indian market that has been launched in the mass-market (mass segment) with the company's indigenously developed 'Bharat Cell LFP' technology.

According to the company, the S1Z features Ola's indigenous 46-series LFP cell platform technology, which has been developed at the company's Battery Innovation Center and is being manufactured at the Ola Gigafactory. It aims to provide modern technology, security and performance to value segment customers without any compromise.

What are the variants, price and driving range of Ola S1Z?

Ola has significantly reduced battery costs with the help of its vertically integrated EV ecosystem, making this technology available at affordable prices. It has been introduced in two variants.

3.1 kWh variant: Its initial introductory price has been kept at Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom), which gives a range (IDC) of up to 179 km on a single charge.

5.1 kWh variant: Its starting price is Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom), which is capable of providing a range (IDC) of up to 301 km.

What is the plan for booking, delivery and dealership expansion of Ola S1Z?

The company is launching a new phase of dealer-operated stores to strengthen its retail network, which will expand its reach across the country.

Delivery of 3.1 kWh variant: Will start from December 2026.

Delivery of 5.1 kWh variant: The time to start has been fixed from March 2027.

What modern features, color options and gearbox/software are provided in Ola S1Z? Ola S1Z has been provided with many modern and connected features which make this segment smarter.

MoveOS 5 more smart features: This scooter works on the company's latest MoveOS 5 software. It has features like cruise control, advanced regenerative braking, reverse mode, GPS, OTA updates, geo/time/mode fencing and easy park.

Design and Colors: The scooter has 12-inch wheels on all variants. It will be available in four colors White, Anthracite, Sky Splash Blue and Matcha Green.

How will customers benefit from the indigenous 'Bharat Cell LFP' technology?

The battery is the most expensive part in an electric vehicle. Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric said that developing this indigenous LFP chemistry in-house has significantly reduced the battery cost.

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry is considered to be a safer and longer lasting technology. The company believes that affordability does not mean compromising on quality, and this technology will accelerate their mission of taking EVs to every Indian home.
