However, hotel check-in rules are now changing. A digital system for room bookings is being implemented, allowing your identity to be verified digitally.

The new verification system allows for digital methods to confirm a customer's identity, potentially utilizing QR codes and OTP-based apps. This system aims to simplify the identity verification process and reduce the need to submit physical photocopies of documents.

Often, upon arriving at a hotel, you are asked for an Aadhaar photocopy, but you may lack both the copy and the means to get one made. To address this, digital verification is being promoted. The UIDAI is working to simplify identity verification and encourage the adoption of digital systems.
