Automobile Desk. Tata Motors, the leading automobile manufacturer which has made a strong hold in the Indian automobile market, has taken a major strategic step for its Passenger Vehicle (PV) segment. The company has announced the new global brand identity 'TATA.CARS', giving a new and modern look to its passenger vehicles business. The main objective of this new initiative is to unify all Tata passenger vehicles—be it petrol-diesel cars, SUVs or electric vehicles (EVs)—under one big master brand.
This rebranding has been done keeping in mind the rapid changes coming in the auto industry and the changing preferences of customers globally. The company has kept the basic message (tagline) of its new identity as “Nothing's Too Far”. Its idea is that in today's era, vehicles are not just a means of moving from one place to another, but they are directly linked to people's aspirations, personal identity and dreams of moving forward in life.

The most interesting thing about this change is its name selection. For decades, common people in India have been colloquially calling Tata vehicles as 'Tata Car'. Recognizing this trust and emotional connect of the public, the company has made the name 'TATA.CARS' official. This makes it clear that the brand wants to take the relationship built with its old and traditional customers forward with modern technology.
The company has also added many new elements on the design and visual styling front. A visual concept called 'Parallel Pathways' has been created for TATA.CARS, inspired by Tata's famous 'T' logo and road lanes. The design reflects the individual journey of customers following different paths and ultimately progressing. Along with this, giving a new look to Tata's traditional blue color, it has been introduced in 'Ambition Blue' shade, with which a special new font and signature sound identity has also been added.
Customers will soon see this new look not only in advertisements but also across Tata Motors' digital platforms, authorized showrooms, service centers and across all brand communications. The company's aim is to provide a uniform experience to the customer at every step, from the purchase of the car to its maintenance and daily use.
This master brand has now been created to provide a common platform for future technologies, new mobility solutions, premium SUVs, hatchbacks and the upcoming next generation electric cars. This new visual makeover will make Tata's presence in the Indian and global markets more streamlined and effective in the coming days.
To avoid any confusion among vehicle owners and new buyers regarding this rebranding, the company has kept some key aspects completely clear:
Names of models will not change: The names of Tata's popular vehicles (like Nexon, Punch, Harrier, Safari, Tiago etc.) will remain the same as before.
The logo of the vehicles will remain the same: The existing Tata 'T' logo on the cars will remain in place.
No change in legal and corporate name: The official corporate unit of the company is 'Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.' Will remain the same. This legal name will continue to be used by investors, regulatory bodies and government documents.
