India Meteorological Department (IMD Weather Update) has issued a very cautious update regarding the weather across the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain and strong storm in 18 states of North, East and Central India within the next 9 hours. During this period, destructive winds can blow at a speed of 80 to 83 kilometers per hour. According to meteorologists, two separate cyclonic circulations have formed at the lower troposphere level in the upper atmosphere of north-eastern Assam and Gujarat, due to which the monsoon has suddenly taken a very aggressive form in large parts of the country.

There is a possibility of landslides in the hilly states and rapid rise in the water level of rivers in the low plains. There is also a danger of lightning in parts of Eastern India.

Meteorological Department's warning in these 18 states According to IMD, the weather pattern may worsen in the next few hours in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

There is a possibility of strong storm with a speed of 50 to 80 kilometers per hour along with rain in the plains of North India. Fishermen living in coastal areas and along the rivers have been asked to move to safe places.

Condition of North and Central India There may be rain in Delhi-NCR till late evening with winds of 50 km/hr, due to which the temperature will drop. At the same time, there is a possibility of winds blowing at a speed of 80 km/hour and heavy rains in more than 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh like Meerut, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Lucknow.

There is a forecast of heavy rain with gale force winds at speeds up to 70 km/hr in many districts of Bihar including Champaran, Siwan, Patna and Bhagalpur (Heavy Rainfall Alert). In view of the possibility of torrential rains, an alert has also been issued in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dumka of Jharkhand.

Advice against traveling in the mountains There is a danger of torrential rains along with strong thunderstorm in Nainital, Uttarkashi and Rishikesh of Uttarakhand, Shimla, Manali and Chamba of Himachal Pradesh and Kupwara and Poonch areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The Meteorological Department has advised tourists and local residents to avoid traveling on hilly roads for the time being.

Meteorologists say that this weather system may remain active like this for the next 24 to 48 hours, only after which the speed will gradually reduce.
