New Delhi, 28 August 2026While the festival of Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a unique celebration of Raksha Bandhan with school children on Friday at his residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. On this special occasion, PM Modi was seen laughing and joking with the children, giving high-fives and spending light moments with them. The Prime Minister has also shared a video of these beautiful moments on social media.
During a conversation with children, a girl asked PM Modi a question about his childhood dreams. The girl asked, 'What was your childhood dream?' In response to which Prime Minister Modi said smilingly, “To meet children like you.” Hearing this sweet answer, all the students present there burst out laughing. In the video, PM Modi is seen blessing the children and talking warmly with them.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had written on the social media platform 'X' while extending his hearty greetings to the countrymen on Raksha Bandhan, “Many best wishes for Raksha Bandhan. May this holy festival bring happiness, prosperity and success in the lives of all of you. May the bond of love, acceptance and mutual trust always remain unbroken.” On this occasion, he also shared a Sanskrit Subhashit, in which the importance of Raksha Sutra is explained that it provides victory, happiness, health and prosperity.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi has been celebrating the festival of Rakshabandhan with small children and students every year for the last few years. Earlier also the children had celebrated this festival by tying Rakhi to her, and the PMA had expressed gratitude to the country's 'Nari Shakti' for their constant trust and love.
