The 5.1 magnitude earthquake has raised new concerns. Soon after it was reported that a new lake near Tibet had burst its dam. As a result of which, within the next half an hour to an hour, Harpa Ban warning has been issued again in North Nepal. All in all, the situation is very serious.
It is reported that the earthquake happened at 1:13 pm according to Chinese time and 10.43 according to Indian time on Friday. Strong tremors were felt in southwest China's Sichuan region. The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.1 on the Richter scale. According to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the epicenter of the earthquake was at 29.23 degrees north latitude and 105.22 degrees east longitude. 13 km deep from the ground. No casualty has been reported so far in this earthquake. However, immediately after this earthquake, there were reports of a dam break in a lake formed by a glacier in Tibet. Due to which alert has been issued in Nepal. However, it is not yet clear whether the dam broke due to the earthquake, or whether the temporary lake created after the disaster broke due to the pressure of the water.
A new lake has broken its dam near Tibet. As a result of which, within the next half an hour to an hour, Harpa Ban warning has been issued again in North Nepal.
Yesterday, China issued a flood warning in Nepal within 72 hours. It was said that another glacial lake formed on the Nepal-Tibet border may break in the next 72 hours, causing another huge flood. China's Ministry of Water Resources said the glacial lake was formed near the confluence of the Chochen Hole and the Purepu Tsangpo River. About 20 lakh cubic meters of water has accumulated in it till Thursday morning. Not only that, the water in the lake has already started overflowing. Another 30 lakh cubic meters of water may accumulate in the lake in the next three days. As a result, the lake may collapse due to excess water pressure. Due to which the situation can become more dire.
In the middle of that warning, the news of breaking the dam of the newly created lake in Tibet came to the fore. In other words, Nepal is afraid of a new Harpa ban, not being able to cope with the shock of Mercury's disaster. A high alert has been issued in Rasua, Dhading districts due to the incident. The rescue work has been suspended for the time being due to Harpa ban.
