Tezzbuzz Desk – Two government teachers have been suspended for their involvement in the path movement of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Yadgir district of Karnataka. Taking action against both of them, the Education Department said that it is against the service rules for government employees to participate in political activities or programs of political organizations.
Both the teachers have been suspended until the investigation is completed. During this period, they will be given subsistence allowance as per rules, but they will not be able to leave the headquarters without permission.
Action taken against which teachers?
Among the two teachers who have been suspended gururaj joshi And Anna Saheb Deshmukh Are included. Gururaj Joshi is an assistant teacher in the Government Girls High School, Hunsagi, while Anna Saheb Deshmukh is working as a head teacher in the Government Lower Primary School located in Kuppi village of Surpur taluk.
A suspension order was issued against both the teachers by Yadgir Deputy Director Channabasappa Mudhol.

According to the department, Gururaj Joshi 12 October 2025 Had participated in the path movement of RSS organized at Talikoti in Vijaypura district. His photo was published in a newspaper in this program. After this, a complaint was made by the District President of Ambedkar Swabhimani Sena.
Based on the complaint, the Education Department had issued a show cause notice to Joshi in March 2026.
In response to the notice, Gururaj Joshi had said that the event in which he participated was organized on Sunday and was after his working hours. He had justified his participation by calling it a cultural program.
However, the department did not accept his reply and considered it a violation of service rules.
What do government service rules say?
The suspension order, citing Karnataka Civil Service rules, states that government employees cannot become members of political parties or organizations associated with politics. Apart from this, they also have to follow the provisions prohibiting them from joining the activities of such organizations and taking part in political movements.
The department said that teachers are expected to play the role of role models for the society and the education department. In such a situation, it is necessary for their activities to be in accordance with the service rules.
At present, departmental inquiry is going on against both the teachers and their suspension will remain in effect till the completion of the investigation.
