Ingredients for making Semolina Vada
For this you need semolina, water, salt, chili flakes, cumin, black pepper, finely chopped green chilies, green coriander and a little oil or ghee. Take separate oil for frying vadas.
How to make Semolina Vada
First step- First of all, heat water in a pan. Add salt as per taste, chili flakes, black pepper, oregano powder, finely chopped green chilies and green coriander and mix well. Now slowly add semolina to it and keep stirring continuously, so that there are no lumps in it.
Second step- Cook the semolina until the mixture thickens and becomes like dough. Now add some oil or ghee to it and mix well. Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool slightly. When it becomes manageable by hand, set it well like dough. Keep it covered for about 10 minutes.
Third step- Now make small balls of the prepared semolina mixture. Round each ball and press it lightly with your palm. After this, make a small hole in the middle with the help of a thick stick or pen pencil. Prepare all the vadas in the same manner.
Fourth step- Now heat oil in the pan. When the oil is hot, carefully add the vadas and fry on medium flame until they become golden and crispy. Keep turning the vadas occasionally, so that they become crisp from all sides. Take out the prepared vadas in a plate.
Serve hot semolina vada with green chutney, tomato sauce or sweet-sour chutney. Their taste increases even more with tea.
