Lucknow. In view of the upcoming festivals, the police administration has intensified preparations regarding law and order, traffic system and crime control in the capital. In this sequence, a review seminar was organized on 27 August 2026 in the office of Joint Police Commissioner Law and Order, Daliganj. The meeting was presided over by Police Commissioner Lucknow Tarun Gaba.
Joint Commissioner of Police Crime Aparna Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Law and Order Bablu Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police of all zones, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police and Assistant Commissioner of Police were present in the seminar. In the meeting, a detailed review was done regarding maintaining peace and law and order during the upcoming festivals, along with crime prevention and traffic arrangements.
The Police Commissioner directed the officers to do daily review and monitoring of crime. He asked to ensure effective preventive and legal action by keeping special vigil on sensitive cases like robbery, dacoity, snatching, molestation, religious conversion, disputes between two communities and cow slaughter.
Vigilance regarding protests
Instructions were also given to the officers regarding matters to law and order and police preparedness during protests. By conducting periodic briefings of the police personnel, emphasis was laid on giving them necessary guidelines and keeping them prepared to deal with any situation.
Monitoring fake news and social media
In the meeting, officials were also instructed to be alert about fake news and misleading information being circulated on social media. The Police Commissioner said that the concerned zone should take immediate cognizance of any such information and ensure legal action as required, so that law and order is not affected due to rumours.
Instructions for early disposal of pending investigations
Instructions were given to regularly review crime data at DCP and circle level. In particular, it was asked to do effective monitoring at ACP level for speedy disposal of investigations pending for 60 to 90 days. Instructions were also given to regularly review the entries made on the case diary portal and the updated status of the cases from the ACP level.
Emphasis on traffic management during festivals
In view of the upcoming festivals, the traffic system was also reviewed. The Police Commissioner stressed on ensuring smooth and orderly traffic on major roads, markets and crowded areas by establishing better coordination with the traffic police.
Review of response of UP-112 also
In the meeting, while reviewing the information and data received from UP-112, instructions were given to the police teams to give quick response and ensure effective policing. The Police Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to maintain peace and law and order during the upcoming festivals, effective prevention of crimes and ensure continuous effective action against criminals. He stressed on not being negligent at any level in sensitive matters and making policing more effective.
