Squash: Velavan Senthilkumar wins career first PSA copper level title at Budapest Open

India’s Velavan Senthilkumar clinched the 2026 Budapest Open title, beating Balazs Farkas in the men’s singles final on Friday.
Senthilkumar, ranked 54th in the world, took down the eighth seeded local favourtie 11-4, 11-2, 11-3 in straight games.
It marked the 11th PSA tour title for the Indian and his career first PSA Copper-level title.
Earlier, Senthilkumar had beaten compatriot Veer Chotrani (9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 1-11, 12-10) in the semifinal on Thursday.
The Indian had defeated Malaysia’s world No. 19 and top seed Eain Yow 11-2,11-9,11-8 in the quarter-finals in an unexpected victory.
Senthilkumar walks away from the Hungarian capital USD 43,500 richer.
