If you are bored of eating pakodas, samosas or namkeen every day, then you can try Semolina Potato Bites. Everyone from children to adults can like their taste. Apart from serving it with evening tea, it can also be served as a snack in parties or small get-togethers. So let us know the easy recipe of making Suji Potato Bites.

Ingredients to make Suji Potato Bites

  • Semolina – 1 cup
  • Boiled potatoes – 2
  • Curd – 2 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 finely chopped
  • Green chilli – 1-2 finely chopped
  • Green Coriander – 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Water – as per need
  • Oil – for frying

How to make Suji Potato Bites

Step 1: Prepare the batter
First of all, add semolina and curd in a big bowl. Prepare a thick batter by adding water little by little. Keep the batter covered for about 10 minutes, so that the semolina swells properly. After this add boiled and mashed potatoes and mix well.

Step 2: Add spices
Now add finely chopped onion, green chilli and green coriander to the mixture. After this add red chili powder, chaat masala and salt. Mix everything well and prepare a mixture which can be easily shaped. If the mixture seems too thin then some semolina can be added to it.

Step 3: Size in bytes
Apply light oil on your hands and take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into small balls or bites. Space all the bites approximately the same way, so they are evenly cooked when cooked. If desired, they can also be given a slightly flat shape.

Step 4: Cook until golden and crispy
Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is medium hot, carefully add the prepared bites. Fry them on medium flame, turning occasionally, until they become golden and crispy. Frying on very high flame can cause the outer layer to brown quickly, while the inner layer will not cook properly. Take out the prepared bites on paper towel.

Serve with chutney

Serve hot Suji Potato Bites with green coriander-mint chutney, tomato sauce or dip of your choice. Some chaat masala can also be sprinkled on top for more taste. This recipe can also become an easy snack option for children’s tiffin or small home parties.
