Kolkata. Political controversy has increased in West Bengal regarding the foundation day program of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, the student organization of Trinamool Congress. A case has been registered against the organizers of the event including former Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee at Hastings police station. It is alleged that the instructions of the Calcutta High Court were allegedly violated during the program organized on August 28.

According to the police complaint, the supporters present at the program allegedly removed the barricades and scuffled with the policemen. Apart from this, traffic on Cathedral Road was also affected. The complaint alleges that the program continued even after the deadline set by the court had expired. Police have registered a case under sections 61(2), 223, 125(A), 132 and 285 of the Indian Judicial Code.

What did Mamata Banerjee say to her supporters?
Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee, during the Foundation Day programme, appealed to party workers and youth not to succumb to political pressure. He said that it is acceptable to go to jail if necessary, but one should not surrender politically.

Appealing to her supporters to remain strong and fearless, Mamata said that Trinamool Congress will soon return to power and write a new political history in the state. He also called upon the youth and women to carry forward the party's fight.

Big announcement regarding student union elections-
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari has announced to conduct student union elections in the colleges and universities of the state soon. Talking to reporters outside Jadavpur University, he said that student union elections will be held soon.

Shubhendu Adhikari claimed that Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad will register a big victory in the elections and saffron flags will be hoisted in colleges. Student union elections have been a big issue in state politics for a long time.

Opposition also raised demand for holding elections-
After the clashes between student organizations in many higher educational institutions in recent times, the demand for student union elections has again intensified. Jadavpur University has also been its main centre.

At the same time, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Ritabrata Banerjee alleged that the BJP government is not taking serious initiative to conduct student union elections. He demanded immediate elections in all the colleges and universities of the state and asked the government to give a clear answer as to when the student union elections would be held.
