Liverpool are edging nearer to completing the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

As per French outlet L’Equipe, the 23-year-old is due to travel to England today in order to finalise his transfer to the Premier League side. The overall package for the France international attacker is believed to be in the region of €140 million.

Liverpool were badly in need of top-quality wide players, and Barcola looks set to be an outstanding addition. He is very highly regarded across Europe, and he has already demonstrated his ability for Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team, even though he has not been a regular starter at the club. Barcola produced 20 goal contributions last season, and he will now aim to display his talent consistently in the Premier League.

The France international is outstanding at taking defenders on and beating them in one-on-one situations. He will bring some much-needed unpredictability in the final third.

Liverpool currently have Victor Munoz and Rio Ngumoha as the only specialist wingers in the squad. Munoz arrived at Liverpool earlier this summer and is still adapting to English football. Ngumoha, meanwhile, is still a teenager, and Liverpool simply cannot depend on him to deliver at a high level every single week.

They will need to manage his development carefully and allow him to progress at his own speed. Liverpool require an established attacking option in the wide areas, and Barcola appears to be an ideal fit for them.

The France international will be pleased to have resolved his long-term future, and he can now concentrate fully on his football. He is too talented to remain on the bench at Paris Saint-Germain, and it remains to be seen whether he can leave a big mark on English football.
