Swami Ramdev Tips: Nowadays, the spoiled daily routine has changed the lifestyle of people. Due to this, hormonal issues are increasing rapidly due to stress, lack of sleep and change in eating habits. Thyroid is also one such common problem, in which there can be imbalance of thyroid hormone in the body. This problem is seen relatively more in women. Thyroid is treated with medicines as per doctor’s advice and requirement, but regular physical activity and yoga can be made a part of a healthy lifestyle. Patanjali founder Swami Ramdev has asked to choose the path of yoga for thyroid disease. Let us know about it.
Yoga will keep the body active
Yoga can help in keeping our body active, reducing stress, improving flexibility and breathing control. Yoga guru Swami Ramdev also recommends practicing yoga and pranayam for different diseases in his yoga programs. For people suffering from thyroid, some yoga asanas can help in stretching and relaxation of the neck, shoulders and upper body. However, these cannot be a substitute for medicines, but their consumption can prevent the disease from progressing.
Control thyroid with these yogasanas
1.throne
In throne, the muscles of the face, jaw and throat are kept active. Practicing this can help in reducing tension in the upper body and feeling relaxed. This can be an easy yoga asana even for people doing sitting jobs for long hours. In the beginning it would be better to do it under the supervision of a trained yoga expert.
2.Ustrasana
Ustrasana which is called Camel Pose in English. In this yoga asana, the body is bent backwards and stretches have to be done around the chest, shoulders and neck. Practicing this yoga regularly helps in improving the flexibility and posture of the body. If there is already pain in the neck or waist, then do not do this without consulting an expert.
3. Matsyasana
By doing Matsyasana one has to stretch the neck and chest area. When done correctly, it helps in relaxing the body and increasing flexibility. While doing this asana, excessive pressure should not be put on the neck. It will be beneficial to take the help of a yoga instructor to do this in the initial days.
4.Sarvangasana
Sarvangasana is considered an advanced yoga asana. In this, the weight of the body falls around the shoulders and neck. Doing yoga benefits various parts of the body but the claim of curing thyroid is not scientifically true. People suffering from neck problems, high blood pressure or others should also consult a specialist before doing this.
5. Halasana
In Halasana, the legs have to be taken towards the back of the head, which provides good stretch to the back, shoulders and rear part of the body. This is also an advanced yoga asana, hence it is important to learn the correct technique instead of seeing it and doing it on your own. If done incorrectly, it can cause pressure on the neck and back.
Also pay attention to pranayam and lifestyle
Breathing exercises like Anulom-Vilom and other pranayam along with yoga can help in reducing stress and relaxation. Apart from this, adequate sleep, balanced diet, regular walks and controlling stress are also important. Keep in mind that yoga is not a cure for thyroid. If the doctor has prescribed thyroid medicine, do not stop or reduce it on your own. The safest way is to consult a doctor or a certified yoga expert according to your condition before starting yoga.
