Patna. Preparations have started to develop a big modern city around Patna, the capital of Bihar. The government has released the draft of Patliputra Satellite Township, which is being prepared keeping in mind the future needs. This new city will be much bigger than the expansion of the existing Patna and arrangements will be made to live here for lakhs of people.
An area of about 81,730 acres has been proposed for this township. Many areas in the southern part of Patna and hundreds of revenue villages have been included in the scheme. The surrounding areas including Punpun will be connected to this big project.
Only houses and colonies will not be built in the new township. There are plans to develop schools, colleges, hospitals, markets, parks, sports facilities and modern transport systems here. Multi-modal transport hubs and industrial zones are also proposed, which could generate new employment and business opportunities.
The special thing is that this city is being planned keeping in mind the needs of the year 2047. Along with the increasing population, preparations will be made in advance for transport, employment and better urban facilities. There is also a plan to reserve some areas for urban farming.
The state government is working towards developing many satellite townships in different parts of Bihar. At present, suggestions and objections have also been sought from the common people on the proposal of Patliputra Township. This is a great news for the people, because in the coming time, a new city equipped with modern facilities can develop around Patna.
