The UP T-20 League (Season-4) match being played at the historic Green Park Stadium in Kanpur has been canceled due to rain. In this ongoing match between Lucknow Falcons and Meerut Mavericks, the game could not proceed due to heavy rain and the match was officially declared canceled at 5:30 pm. Both the teams had to share one point each from the match.
After winning the toss, Lucknow Falcons decided to bowl first. Meerut Mavericks, who came to bat first, had scored 67 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in 8.3 overs, when suddenly it started raining heavily. For Meerut, opener Swastik Chikara scored unbeaten 39 runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes in 30 balls and Divyansh Joshi scored 24 runs. For Lucknow Falcons, star fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krishna Kumar took 1-1 wicket.
The match was formally started by Brigadier Praveen Kumar Shastri, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters Kanpur, by conducting the toss and ringing the traditional bell. During this, UP T-20 League Governing Council Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, UPCA Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta and other senior officials were present. The umpires decided to cancel the match as the field became unplayable after rain.
