Mumbai Kannada films superstar Kiccha Sudeep has supported actor Yash's recent release 'Toxic' and praised him. The film is receiving mixed responses from audiences and critics. Despite this, Sudeep has appreciated Yash's decision in which, after the previous big commercial success, he once again tried to move away from the traditional formula and do something new.

Yash is playing the lead role in 'Toxic' directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film was released in theaters on Wednesday. He described 'Toxic' as “a unique and commendable effort”. According to Sudeep, many parts of the film intrigued him and such experiments can open the way for further discussion and new ideas.

Wishing Yash all the best in his post, he wrote, “Congratulations to you for doing something new and showing the courage to work out of the box. My friend, all the best to you.”

Discussion of budget of around Rs 500 crore

'Toxic', directed by Geetu Mohandas, has reportedly been made with a budget of around Rs 500 crore. It is a dark action-drama, in which Yash is presented in a different and intense manner from his earlier films.

An effort has been made to keep the film's story, visual treatment and action distinct from traditional commercial cinema. This is the reason why different opinions are being seen among the audience and critics regarding the film.

Initial earnings showed strength

Despite mixed reviews, 'Toxic' has made a strong start at the box office. According to Sacknik's third day report, the film has so far made a net collection of Rs 165.35 crore in India, while the domestic gross collection is reported to be Rs 197.70 crore.

Now the focus is on the Saturday and Sunday performance of the film. Weekend earnings will reveal whether the initial momentum continues or not.
