Liverpool held 2-2 by Nottingham Forest as Victor Munoz earns late point for untidy Reds

Victor Munoz celebrated his home debut with a late equaliser as Liverpool salvaged a 2-2 draw for the second Premier League week in a row.

Andoni Iraola is still waiting for his first victory as Reds manager after his team fell behind twice against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.

Dan Ndoye handed the visitors a deserved lead in the first half before Alexander Isak brought Liverpool level on the hour mark.

A penalty from Morgan Gibbs-White moved Forest to the brink of a third successive win at this ground, but £34.5million summer arrival Munoz struck with eight minutes remaining to the huge relief of the home supporters.

Even so, the outcome extended Liverpool’s frustrating opening to the new season after last week’s stoppage-time draw at Newcastle. Iraola will hope the expected imminent signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola can provide fresh momentum.

They were up against a Forest side that had improved significantly after suffering two defeats to Leeds in Oliver Glasner’s opening week in charge.
