Lionel Messi is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. The Argentina legend struck four times against CF Montréal on Saturday as the Herons overwhelmed the Canadian side.

Miami had been going through a difficult patch in recent weeks, but with new head coach Kily Gonzalez arriving this week, they sent out a strong message by dismantling Montréal at home.

As so often, Messi was the standout performer, scoring four goals, including two extraordinary finishes.

The first of those came after a trademark weaving run inside the box before he calmly slid the ball into the net.

And just when it looked as though the great man would end the night with only a hat-trick, he produced a brilliant free-kick from the edge of the area with the final kick of the match to complete a stunning fourth goal.

At this stage, it is hard to find anything new to say that has not already been said countless times before.
