Daayra, produced by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, is one of the biggest theatrical releases of September 2026. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, the movie has been set for silver screen release on September 18. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Daayra's trailer will be unveiled soon. A while ago, the filmmaker revealed the character posters of Kareena and Prithviraj. While Kareena has been introduced as DCP Ajooni Kohli, her co-star essays the role of DCP Raman Kumar. As far as the trailer is concerned, it will be out in two days. Read on to know more.

The solo characters posters of Daayra actors   are out. The actress looks fierce in a cop avatar in the poster, which is set against trucks in motion. The overall look creates a sense of urgency, movement and intrigue. DCP Ajooni Kohli has been described as someone who is 'unflinching, unreadable and unafraid'. That said, the official trailer of Daayra will be revealed on August 31.

 

On the other hand, Prithviraj has been introduced as DCP Raman Kumar, who comes with a calculated calm but is fearlessly fierce. The actor's character looks at the centre of tense moment in the poster, which is set against a green field amist a press conference.

 

In a heartfelt note that she penned before Daayra's release,   expressed that having lived in Mumbai all her life and having travelled across India, she knews most of this city and the country through her journey. However, this movie took her to unseen and unvisited places.

"And that's just the geography. Daayra took my creativity to areas I have never explored before. It took my social awareness to reaches I didn't know I had. As a student of Sociology, I learned that our life and our society is not binary. It's not just black and white," she wrote. Check out her full note below:

 

The filmmaker added that there is a specturm of grey that everyone exists in. Through Talvar, Raazi, Chhapaak and Sam Bahadur, she has cherished exploring the grey within the characters and the world we live in. "Daayra for me, not only explores that grey... It invades it... it attempts to dismantle it. And that is the irony of Daayra. While it is not binary, not black or white, and is certainly grey - It is also, always dual. At its core Daayra is only about duality," she penned.
