Kiara Advani is considered one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema and is widely regarded as a pan-Indian actress. With Telugu films such as “Bharat Ane Nenu” and “Vinaya Vidheya Rama,” she became a familiar face in Telugu cinema and was subsequently associated with several pan-Indian projects.

Riding on her popularity and familiarity across industries, Kiara was signed as the female lead in three major pan-Indian films around the same period. Those films were “Game Changer,” “War 2” and “Toxic,” representing Telugu, Bollywood and Kannada cinema respectively.

Kiara hoped that these three big projects would take her career to the next level. However, all three films ended up disappointing at the box office.

Shankar’s “Game Changer,” in which she starred opposite Ram Charan, was the first major setback. The film was released in January 2025 and failed to live up to its huge expectations. “War 2,” the Bollywood biggie starring Hrithik Roshan, followed in August 2025 and also turned out to be a disappointment.

These two back-to-back results came as a major setback for the actress. She then embraced motherhood and welcomed her first child with her husband, Sidharth Malhotra, after the release of “War 2.”

Kiara was expected to make a strong comeback after her maternity break with “Toxic.” She actively participated in the film’s promotions and appeared confident about the film’s prospects. However, “Toxic,” starring Yash and released on August 26, 2026, also turned out to be a disappointment at the box office.

As a result, Kiara has now had three major disappointments in a row with three high-profile pan-Indian films over a span of two years. For an actress who was expected to emerge as one of the biggest pan-Indian stars, this is certainly an unexpected phase in her career.
