New Delhi, 30 August 2026: According to the Maharashtra government report, out of 404 people of the state who were stranded in Nepal-Tibet area due to the floods on August 26, 338 people have been contacted and their safety has been confirmed.
Of those found safe, 37 people have left Saga for Tibet and are being brought back to India, while 105 citizens of Nagpur have returned to the country.
However, 60 tourists who had gone to Nepal through Mumbai-based 'Richa Tours Pvt Ltd' are still missing and officials have been unable to get direct contact with them. Information about the other six citizens was found through an online link, but officials could not contact them either.
The Ministry of External Affairs has provided Maharashtra with a list of 149 citizens of the state who are currently safe in China or Tibet. This list has been sent to the district collectors for verification and coordination.
