Nepal Flood: The flood in Nepal has badly frightened people all over the world. Amidst the devastation caused by heavy floods near Tibet border in Nepal, 28 pilgrims from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh returned to their homes on Saturday. He experienced an experience that seemed to him as long as an era. Pemmasani Venkataramana, managing director of Tirupati-based 'Sign In Travels', was part of a group of 28 people who went on the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra. According to 'Times of India', he told how a short break for tea and a delay of 10 minutes saved his life.

A tea break saved a pilgrim's life

Venkataramana said, 'We had to reach Syabrubesi located on the Nepal-Tibet border quickly. But the tea break and a delay of 10 minutes saved the lives of all 28 of us. Sensing the trouble, our driver reacted immediately, changed the route and took us to a safe place. Krishnaiah Muthyala, another pilgrim from Visakhapatnam, told how a three-day delay in getting the visas saved the group of pilgrims.

According to the report of 'Times of India', Krishnaiah said, 'Our group (28 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka) was to go to Manasarovar. Due to three days delay in getting the visa, our entire trip got delayed. Otherwise, we would have been on the Syabrubesi bridge when it was washed away in the flood. We all could have lost our lives.

Death toll crosses 700

The death toll from the devastating floods that hit Nepal near the Tibet border has risen to 734, while nearly 1,500 people are still missing, according to the Nepalese government. This flood was caused by the breaking of the glacier in the Himalayas, which created lakes in the valley and destroyed many villages on the Nepal-Tibet border. The floods damaged many houses and settlements near the border, causing widespread destruction in the area. According to ANI, major hydro projects and solar plants built on the Trishuli river in Nuwakot district have also suffered heavy damage.
