Actor Manoj Bajpayee, during the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Last Man in Tower’, reacted to standup comedian Samay Raina’s Bihari joke in ‘India’s Got Latent 2’, for which Samay Raina is in controversy these days. The actor said that while doing comedy, one should maintain everyone’s respect and avoid saying things that might hurt someone’s sentiments.

Speaking to IANS, the actor said that as long as the intention is harmless, he has no objection. He said, ‘If it’s all in fun, I don’t really mind. We must learn to laugh at ourselves and laugh together, laugh at each other and yet not be hurt or angry.

Talking further, Manoj Bajpayee said, ‘This is what we should learn. We need to have fun and make fun of ourselves, but we also need to have respect, not only for ourselves but also for the person we’re sitting with and where he or she comes from. After this the actor recalled an incident from his early days in Delhi, when he was 18 years old and newly arrived in the city. He said, ‘When I was in Delhi, I was 18 years old and was trying to board a bus for the first time. I didn’t know the city rules. Then the driver looked at me and shouted, ‘Hey Bihari, board from the back gate’.
I didn’t feel bad
Manoj Bajpayee further told in the conversation that he did not feel bad about Samay Raina’s Bihari joke, because he himself is from Bihar. He said that people from different states often make fun of each other and this should not be taken to heart. However, he also said that anything that harms a community or an individual becomes a problem. According to him, being able to laugh at each other and at oneself is a sign of a healthy society.
