PM Modi honored with Uzbekistan's highest state honor, agreement reached between the two countries on many agreements including uranium

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored with the highest state honor in Uzbekistan. PM Modi shared experiences of development from ‘New Tashkent’ being built in Uzbekistan to GIFT City in Gujarat. Mirziyoyev further said that Delhi’s voice and influence in global affairs has become stronger than before. Both Mirziyoyev and Modi discussed strengthening bilateral relations and issues like trade, investment, culture, yoga, connectivity and economic cooperation.

The PM further said that India will welcome a delegation from Uzbekistan to study the technology and best practices adopted in these projects. Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev praised India’s economic and technological progress under the leadership of PM Modi. PM Modi appreciated Mirziyoyev’s hospitality, PM Modi also thanked the President of Uzbekistan for decorating Tashkent with the colors of the Indian tricolor.

PM Modi further said that a coordination council will be set up at the Foreign Minister level to give direction to all areas of cooperation between the two countries. A joint business summit will also be organized with the participation of business leaders from both the countries. The PM further said that the Joint Commission will be raised from the secretary level to the ministerial level. Both countries will establish arrangements for long-term supply of uranium. Additionally, three sister-city and sister-state agreements are being formalized.
