After eating dinner at night, one often feels like eating something sweet. In such a situation, if sweets or any dessert are not available at home then there is no need to order anything from outside. You can prepare delicious halwa with some easy ingredients present in your kitchen. Halwa made from jaggery and wheat flour tastes amazing and does not require many things to make it. The special thing is that jaggery is used instead of sugar, which gives a different taste and aroma to the halwa. If you too are suddenly craving sweets at night, then let us know the easy recipe of making delicious halwa from jaggery and wheat flour.

Ingredients for making pudding

Wheat flour 1 cup, jaggery ¾ cup, desi ghee 4-5 tbsp, water about 2 cups, cardamom powder ½ tsp, chopped almonds 1 tbsp, chopped cashews 1 tbsp, raisins 1 tbsp

Method of making jaggery and wheat flour pudding

Step 1: Heat about 2 cups of water in a pan. Add jaggery to it and let it dissolve well on low flame. When the jaggery dissolves completely, turn off the gas. Filter it, so that if there is any impurity in the jaggery, it gets removed. There is no need to thicken the jaggery syrup too much.

Step 2: Now take a heavy bottom pan and add ghee in it and heat it. Add wheat flour to it and fry it on low to medium flame while stirring continuously. Frying the flour well is the most important part of this halwa. When the color of the flour starts turning light golden and a pleasant aroma starts coming from it, then understand that the flour has been roasted well.

Step 3: Now reduce the flame and slowly add hot water while stirring the flour continuously. Be careful while adding water, because adding water to hot ghee may splash. By stirring continuously there will be no lumps in the halwa.

Step 4: When the flour starts absorbing the water well and the mixture starts becoming thick, then add the prepared jaggery water in it. Cook it on low flame while stirring continuously. Within some time, the halwa will start leaving the pan and it will start getting a nice shine.

Step 5: Now add cardamom powder, chopped almonds, cashews and raisins and mix well. After cooking for 1-2 more minutes, turn off the gas. Hot jaggery and wheat flour pudding is ready. Serve it by adding some more dry fruits on top.
