India has started its journey with its first win in the Women's T20 Asia Cup. The team defeated Thailand by 94 runs in the match played on Sunday. While chasing 160 runs, Thailand was all out for 65 runs in 16.1 overs at the Dubai International Stadium.

Deepti Sharma, playing her 150th match, has taken 3 wickets without giving any runs, after which she has also become the top wicket taker of Women's T20 International. Nandani Sharma took 3 wickets and Shri Charani took 2 wickets.

Player of the match Shefali Sharma scored 64 runs on 36 balls. He hit 8 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. The second match of the Indian team will be against Pakistan on the same ground on 5th September. Despite a strong start, Team India could score only 159 runs on Sunday. He lost 8 wickets in scoring the last 46 runs.

Before this, the top-3 batsmen of the team scored 105 runs. These included Smriti Mandhana's 22 runs, Shefali Verma's 64 runs and Pratika Rawal's 22 runs. Sulaporn Laomi took 3 wickets for Thailand.
