Mirzapur: The Movie is set to hit cinemas next week and the film is already creating buzz for its unusually long runtime. The much-awaited big-screen version of the popular web series has now completed its censor process.
According to the CBFC website, Mirzapur: The Movie has a runtime of 197.19 minutes, which means the film is 3 hours, 17 minutes and 19 seconds long.
The film has also received an ‘A’ certificate, which is not surprising given the franchise’s reputation for violence, bloodshed and strong language.
The film joins the growing list of recent Indian films with a runtime of over three hours. Films such as Animal, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Border 2 and Dhurandhar also crossed the three-hour mark.
Mirzapur: The Movie will release in cinemas on September 4. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Malik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Sonal S Chauhan, Anangsha Biswas and Ravi Kishan, among others.
