ENG vs PAK: Pakistan also lost Lord's Test, England captured the series

Pakistan's shameful performance continues on the England tour. Pak team has also lost the Lord's Test. Chasing the difficult target of 389 runs, the team captained by Babar Azam was reduced to 194 runs after the tea break on the fourth day (30 August). England won by 194 runs and captured the 3 test match series. The hosts had won the first Test in Leeds by an innings and 103 runs. The third and last Test of this series will be played in Birmingham from 9 September.

Pak bowlers' hard work went in vain

After losing the toss, the English team came to bat first and were all out after scoring 290 runs in their first innings. Mohammad Abbas took 4 wickets, while Mohammad Ali took 3 wickets and disposed of it cheaply. However, the Pakistani batsmen spoiled their hard work. Pakistani team could score only 110 runs in its first innings. Except Azaan Owais (45) and Saud Shakeel (16), no one could cross the double figures. Ollie Robinson bowled lethally and took 4 wickets. Joffra Archer had 3 wickets, while Josh Tong had 2 wickets in his account.

 

After gaining a lead of 110 runs, England scored 208 runs in their second innings and set a big target for Pakistan. For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas again bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets for 57 runs. Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali got 2-2 successes.

 

Pakistan limited to below 200 in both innings

The Pakistani team, which came to chase the huge target, lost 3 wickets for 14 runs. Azaan Owais (6) and Abdullah Shafiq (0) were dismissed by Ollie Robinson in the same over. After this, Joffra Archer hit Babar Azam (6) for all four on a dangerous bouncer. Saud Shakeel showed fight alone and played an inning of 97 runs but he could only reduce the margin of defeat. Apart from him, no other Pakistani batsman could perform. The Pakistani team was limited to below 200 in both its innings. Robinson again took 4 wickets in his bag. This time Josh Tong took 3 wickets, while Joffra Archer took 2 wickets.
