Pakistani batting order flopped in both innings

England, who lost the toss and came to bat first, were all out for 290 runs in their first innings. Jordan Cox contributed 55 runs and Jamie Smith contributed 61 runs for England. Mohammad Abbas took 4 wickets in the first innings for Pakistan. In reply, Pakistan’s first innings collapsed like a pack of cards. The entire team was all out for just 110 runs, in which Azan Awais scored the highest 46 runs. For England, Ollie Robinson took 4 wickets and Jofra Archer took 3 wickets.

Bowlers dominate amid rain

After taking a 180-run lead on the basis of the first innings, England’s second innings was also not very impressive. Rain on the third day helped the bowlers with the pitch, resulting in England’s second innings being reduced to just 207 runs. Dan Lawrence scored 54 runs. Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas took five wickets.

Pakistan were set a daunting target of 388 runs to win the match. Saud Shakeel led a lone battle in the second innings, scoring 97, but lacking support from the other end, the team could only manage 194. For England, Ollie Robinson took four wickets in the second innings, while Josh Tonge took three.

England win at Lord’s after 16 years

The final match will be played in Birmingham.

After winning the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, and now with a second victory at Lord’s, the English team, led by Joe Root, has clinched the series. The third and final Test of the series will be played in Birmingham from September 9th, where the Pakistani team will be looking to salvage some pride.
